A cooler - grey day today with light rain this morning - No rush to go out in rain so we took our time getting ready.
Off to Ille Grande - our usual path that winds alongside the beech and rocks - it is a well used - well sign posted path - mainly level.
Lots of wild and cultivated flowers bordering the path - quite colourful - we even saw a hedge full of honeysuckle !!
Today when we reached our furthest point so far - we carried on walking - and walking - the rain held off - the path was dry - no problem.
I thought that we might walk as far as the bird sanctuary - the end of our walk from the harbour and we did !
It would be too far to back track to the car so we took to the road and headed for the centre of the island.
we didn't have a lead for Penny so we used my braces double up - penny pulled against the lead - so hard she choked herself and started laboured breathing !! we were really worried for her.
She calmed down off the lead and we carefully walked to the market square and discovered that it was market day !
Ille Grande is not a market on our regular list - it was packing up but we managed to buy two apples and two bananas for a bit of energy. - lovely.
A little further on we came to the cafe at the centre of the island - Jackie stopped there with Penny while I walked on for the car.
A good long walk today - we must have walked more than half of the coast path in the two sessions - we might try and finish rest soon.
