A lovely hot sunny day for my 67th birthday !!
We got going early - lots of cards and an email card from my sister plus lots of birthday wishes on Facebook.
Jackie wanted to do a nice meal for me today and that can only mean one thing - SEAFOOD !!
We found our local supermarket has started opening on Sundays recently with a full fish counter.
Having bought the goodies we decided to take Penny on a new walk - the nature trail.
This walk is through boggy swampy woodland on half a mile of board walk - Penny couldn't get to sniff much of the woodland so when the board walk passed a lovely bright green patch of lawn she jumped off -
Straight into the swamp !!!!
It wasn't lawn but floating green algae - she disappeared then surfaced covered in black smelly slime !!
Quick as a flash I hooked her out and raced her back to the boat for a bath - she hated that even more than the dunking.
The hot sun dried her out through the day - NOT ONE OF HER BEST DAYS !!
Pottering on board today testing the new TV in the front cabin - good.
Then at 5 pm we set the table for a seafood feast.
We shared a lovely platter of really fresh seafood - and a glass of chilled white wine.
Then for afters -
Jackie had baked me a lovely cake - perfect.
We walked Penny in hot sunshine right along the prom and sat down with a pint on the way home.
A great birthday.
